Trauma expert, Bessel van der Kolk says, Trauma is not the story of something that happened back then…  It’s the current imprint of that pain, horror, and fear living inside people.”

Sometimes the pieces of our lives don’t fit, or feel like they don’t fit because of various things that have happened to us. By addressing some of those things that happened in our past, we can create space for the strengths that we have developed just to survive to date, to move forward tomorrow. I have many strategies to address those traumatic experiences that might be getting in our way of where we want to go.

Primary Approaches Used

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ACT)

ART uses eye movements (similar to EMDR) and bilateral stimulation to re-program the brain and process negative sensations.

Cognitive Processing for PTSD

Similar to CBT, CPT is a cognitive approach to process and change the unhealthy beliefs related to trauma.

Graphic Narrative Therapy

A graphic narrative approach to trauma accesses and integrates different components of memory storage to process trauma, ranging from timelines, written and spoken narrative, and comic storyboarding.

Somatic Approaches

Body based approaches.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

90 min sessions involving eye movements / bilateral stimulation.
